The artistry of summer is
graced by blooming flowers,
Their colors and aromas have intoxicating powers.
A warm breeze carries the perfume in the air
Of roses, honeysuckle and others here and there.

Their colors and aromas have intoxicating powers.
A warm breeze carries the perfume in the air
Of roses, honeysuckle and others here and there.
The morning glories open with the rising of the sun
And four-o’clocks indicate when day is almost done.
From morning’s first light, flowers wet with dew,
Until the evening darkness, they provide a lovely view.
Hollyhocks, geraniums and hydrangeas too
Create a masterpiece of pink, red and blue,
While sunflowers, daisies and marigolds grow
With a bright golden touch to add to the show.
What delight flowers offer on a warm summer day,
As petunias, phlox and zinnias brighten up our way;
The colorful display of the Master gardener’s art
Brings delight to the senses and gladdens the heart!
As petunias, phlox and zinnias brighten up our way;
The colorful display of the Master gardener’s art
Brings delight to the senses and gladdens the heart!

Hi Connie - it's delightful ... as are the blooms of a summer's day. So much to see in our mid-year time ... and the gardener's art is always magical - she achieves so much in her craft for us to wonder at - cheers Hilary
Hi Hilary, thank you for coming by to read my poem. I love flowers and the artistry of them. Spring and summer are great times to enjoy them.
hi Miss Connie
wow...what a beautiful poem. every part of it is alive and grabs the senses. it makes me feel like i'm back with my mom in her garden. your poem gave me some really nice memories of her. she had lots of different kinds of flowers and gave every one of them special care. thanks for taking me on a beautiful, sensual journey back in time.
...hugs
Hi Lenny! I'm so glad my poem gave you lovely memories of your mom. Thanks for your sweet comment. Hugs!
Only God can paint such a pretty picture!
