Spring's Resurrection

In spring the resurrection from winter’s cold tomb
Brings new life once again as flowers start to bloom.
All creation sings a joyous song of spring
As renewal of life brings fresh life to everything.

The earth’s crust is cracked by a hidden power,
And what emerges is a stem, leaf and flower.
The icy grave of winter where no life can be seen
Transforms into a vibrant, living carpet of green.

Fresh hope arrives with the springtime air
So our lives that once had seemed lifeless and bare,
Like the earth to which fresh life returns,
Can find the renewal for which the soul yearns.

Spring’s resurrection coincides with Easter too –
All life that has ended God is able to renew.
Christ conquered death, there’s no longer separation,
And we can join in singing the song of creation.

Excerpt from A Symphony of Seasons by Connie Arnold

Wishing you a wonderful, blessed Easter and beautiful spring!

The Gifts of Each Day

Each new day offers a gift, something special about the day
to give the heart and soul a lift and make life better in some way.

Be thankful for the little things found in each new day,
a clear blue sky, a butterfly, the strength to work and play.

Each day is special, one of a kind.
Rejoice and give thanks for each blessing you find.

Find the song in your day then pass it along,
spreading joy on your way through the gift of your song.

As the sun sets in the west, if you have done your best,
with satisfaction you can then enjoy your night’s rest.

These are a few samples of my short verses. If you enjoy them and want to read more, please like my Inspirational Poetry Facebook page.

Ups and Downs in Life

These are a few verses that I have written that have a similar theme of the opposites in life. I post these sometimes on my Inspirational Poetry Facebook page and Twitter. Please click on these links if you'd like to read more like these.

Life is a mixture of good things and bad,
pain and pleasure, being happy or sad.
Remember through all things the good Lord above
will guide and protect you, filled with great love.

Some days have sunshine and others have rain,
some days bring happiness, others bring pain,
some days bring sorrow like storm clouds above,
but all days are filled with God's grace and great love.

Sometimes there's peace, at others there's strife,
laughter and tears are each part of life.
At times things go right but at times may go wrong,
But love makes things better, fills your heart with a song.

Imagine

Today I'd like to share with you a new poem that can be enjoyed by all, young to old! You can join me in celebrating not only the release of my new inspirational poetry book, Abundant Comfort and Grace, but also my soon to be released children's book, Animal Sound Mix-Up!

Imagine if days never had sunshine

Or if the night had no stars or moon,

If books had no pages, pens had no paper,

Or if a song didn’t have any tune!

Imagine if rainbows had no colors

Or if a forest didn’t have trees,

If birds couldn't fly, oceans were dry,

Or if with crackers you couldn’t have cheese!

Imagine if the sky was not blue

Or if the grass never turned green,

If fruit wasn’t sweet, animals had no feet,

Or if no variety ever was seen!

If we imagine a world without beauty

It helps us to be more aware,

To give thanks and praise to God all our days,

Treat the earth with much greater care.

Abundant Comfort and Grace

It is my pleasure to announce to you that a new book of my inspirational poetry has just been completed and will be available in June from RPJ & Company. These poems share the comfort to be found through God's grace, verses that inspire and uplift, reassurance of God's love, encouragement and hope. Each poem is accompanied by stunning color photographs by Gary Strader, who has allowed me to share some of his photography here with my poems previously. These photos reveal glimpses of God's grace and the beauty of creation. The beauty of the book is also enhanced by the creative layout, design and cover by Kathleen Schubitz. Below is an excerpt from the book.

A Glimpse of God’s Grace

To catch a glimpse of God’s grace
We need only to look around,
At any time or in any place
Evidence of God’s grace may be found,
Just look at the world around you
And you will see this is true.

The rosy beauty of sunrise
At the start of a fresh new day
As sunlight reaches wakening eyes,
Chasing the darkness away,
Then we can slowly grow conscious of
God’s grace as a sign of His love.

The visible signs seen in nature
Like rainbows after the rain,
Help us to know we can be sure
That hope for each day we can gain.
God’s grace will appear in everything
And give us a new song to sing.

Check my website for news of Abundant Comfort and Grace becoming available, to read other poems and for a special offer on my first two books, Beautiful Moments of Joy & Peace and Abiding Hope & Love, on sale at a clearance price through June. Be sure to check out the other inspiring books and services available from RPJ and Company.

Passing Along a Song

A sweet song, carried on a breeze,
Floating through the air,
Whispering lightly through the trees,
Seemed to be everywhere,
Falling lightly on my ear,
Such a pleasant thing to hear!

The beauty of this melody,
Drifting across my mind,
Bringing a sense of tranquility,
A peace I'd longed to find,
I shared by humming through the day
As it continued on its way.

Someone having a problem or two,
As I was passing by,
Heard the melody coming through,
And gave a contented sigh,
As the song I carried on its way
Helped brighten up another's day.
