Hope Grows

This is a poem I wrote for Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter as part of an attempt to share inspiration and hope for all of us living with lupus. I hope it will bless and encourage all, no matter what difficulties you may be facing!

Hope dwells in the heart
And flutters like butterfly wings,
Building strength of the spirit
To face the struggles life brings.

Hope glimmers and swells within
Even though the body grows weak,
And shines fiercely through the pain
As the comfort and healing we seek.

Hope bursts forth like flames,
Stronger than any disease,
And Victory is its name
For this hope will never cease!

The Gifts of Each Day

Each new day offers a gift, something special about the day
to give the heart and soul a lift and make life better in some way.

Be thankful for the little things found in each new day,
a clear blue sky, a butterfly, the strength to work and play.

Each day is special, one of a kind.
Rejoice and give thanks for each blessing you find.

Find the song in your day then pass it along,
spreading joy on your way through the gift of your song.

As the sun sets in the west, if you have done your best,
with satisfaction you can then enjoy your night’s rest.

These are a few samples of my short verses. If you enjoy them and want to read more, please like my Inspirational Poetry Facebook page.
