A Moment of Quiet Peace
Life too often is spent
in a great hurry and rush,
Without ever taking time
for a gentle, quiet hush,
Always staying busy
with activities that won’t cease,
Never finding a moment
for a calm, reflective peace.
Much of the beauty of nature
is found in quiet things,
Like softly falling snowflakes
and butterfly wings,
The petals that drop gently
from a lovely, fragrant rose,
Sweet calmness that descends on us
in times of deep repose.
The silence of day’s dawning,
when the grass is wet with dew,
Is a chance for meditating
on things both old and new.
Taking time to feel God’s presence
when all is calm and still
Can help us get our lives on track
and focus on God’s will.
in a great hurry and rush,
Without ever taking time
for a gentle, quiet hush,
Always staying busy
with activities that won’t cease,
Never finding a moment

We so rarely take that moment, too. Beautiful poem, Connie.
Beautiful poem! We all need to "be still and know that He is God."

This is perfect! beautifully penned wisdom, Connie! one of my own favorite topics to write about. My poem 'The Prayer' also speaks of finding the silent moment. If you get some time perhaps you would like to read it. I will be reposting it shortly.
thank you so much for visiting my blog. your timing is perfect for I have been much preoccupied lately and inspiration for writing any new pieces just haven't come to me.
Your poem hit home to me and served as a gentle reminder for me to take the moment(s) that you have written about for it is in these moments that I feel inspired
thank you!

Beautiful poem, Connie. Reminds me of Cedar Key last week. Thank you for stopping by to visit. Blessings.
Love your poem! There is a huge motel ad billboard near me that says "REST IS REQUIRED". I think that is good advice.
