What Will You Do?

What will you do with this special day,
This year with a brand new start?
Did you gain any knowledge along the way
In the past year that you can impart?

Did you learn anything from errors you made
To share with others to help them learn?
Did you know as the old year began to fade
That this year can take a fresh turn?

This day you've been given and you cannot know
How many more will be given to you
As new years come and old years go,
Whether many or just a few.

So as we enter another new year,
Try to make each day the best it can be.
When the future's uncertain, not really clear,
God's love is a daily certainty.

Connie~
What a lovely poem! Thank you for stopping by my blog & your wishes for our twin grand~daughters due in May. I am a new follower & am inspired by your poetry & books. I have been editing a book my sister wrote of poetry & vignettes. I am in awe of writers who have published & am working on some writing myself. I have written poetry since I was young, so I relish in reading yours. Helen Steiner Rice was a favorite of mine also. Have a wonderful new year!
Blessings,
Cindy
