for the sun above, the gift of your love,
opportunities to work and to play.
Thank you Lord for the noontime
and for the food we eat,
for the beauty that lies before our eyes,
for all the people we meet.
Thank you Lord for the close of day,
the anticipation of rest,
for your loving care, being always there,
for helping us do our best.
Thank you Lord for the nighttime
and for sweet refreshing sleep,
for troubles that cease, being filled with your peace,
for our souls that in safety you keep.
Thank you Lord for your blessings,
mercy, grace, all that you do,
for each breath we take, each move we can make,
for our eyes and ears, for calming our fears,
for the gift of your Son, love for everyone,
for all things we give thanks to you.

Love your poetry. Rhyming is my favorite kind of poetry. It's pretty much the only kind I write. I have a great respect for Dr. Seuss! Heheh..
