Night Approaches

The end of the day is coming
as light slowly fades from the sky,
night approaches once again
as another day has gone by.

It's time to unwind and relax
as the eyelids begin to close,
to refresh our bodies and our minds,
time for a sweet repose.

Often tensions and worries
prevent us from falling asleep,
but when we can turn them over to God,
our slumber is restful and deep.

The cares and anxieties of the day
we need to learn to release,
then our bodies and minds can be renewed
as we sleep secure in God's peace.

Oh how sweet it is to go to sleep with your mind, body and soul at peace. So many nights I spent awake from worrying BUT GOD who says to cast all our cares upon Him allows us to sleep in perfect peace! How beautiful it is!

Keep writing your beautiful poetry my friend. I love them more and more! I can not get enough!

I love you!

Very good poem Connie, I have realized that often when we do lay down to sleep that is when our thoughts can go quickly to negativity and worry. In the last few weeks tho i have been stopping those thoughts of the night by replacing them with thoughts of God and His blessings.. It has helped me tremendously and i am reminded of the scriptures that we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as i lay down now and begin to fall asleep my sleep has been so much sweeter because i am learning to renew my mind and line it up with God's word!
